23 Memory Verses About Love Toddlers & Preschoolers Can Learn

When I was a children's pastor, I was frequently asked at what point children can start memorizing scripture. It is never too young to start reciting scripture with your child. And, definitely, by the time your little one reaches toddler age he has begun to memorize things. So, in my opinion, learning God's Word should be at the top of the list! With Valentine's Day around the corner, I've decided to put together a list of verses about love that toddlers and young preschoolers can memorize.

"Be very careful to love the Lord your God." Joshua 23:11

"For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens." Psalm 57:10

"For your love for me is very great." Psalm 86:13

"Your unfailing love will last forever." Psalm 89:2

"For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever." Psalm 100:5

"Let them praise the Lord for his great love." Psalm 107:31

"For his unfailing love for us is powerful." Psalm 117:2

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends!" Lamentations 3:22

"Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 19:19

"If you love me, obey my commandments." John 14:15

"This is my command: Love each other." John 15:17

"Love each other with genuine affection." Romans 12:10

"Love does no wrong to others." Romans 13:10

"Love is patient and kind." 1 Corinthians 13:4

"And do everything with love." 1 Corinthians 16:14

"Live a life filled with love." Ephesians 5:2

"Above all, clothe yourselves with love." Colossians 3:14

"Love each other deeply with all your heart." 1 Peter 1:22

"Love each other as brothers and sisters." 1 Peter 3:8

"We should love one another." 1 John 3:11

"We love each other because he loved us first." 1 John 4:19

"Those who love God must also love their fellow believers." 1 John 4:21

"And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too." 1 John 5:1

The key to helping your toddler or preschooler learn scripture is repetition! Say the verse during bath time, while you're changing your child, while you're playing... just keep saying it, she will get it.
