Clutter can really have a negative impact on how your home looks. Minimalism is what’s in these days and cluttered homes have become very old fashioned. This infographic from HappyCleans looks at how you can declutter your home over a 21 day period.
Book, magazines and paperwork can really make a place look messy. For example, why not have a quick look through your receipts and dispose of any you don’t need. Most of us will also have books and magazines that have been doing nothing but gathering dust for years. Recycle ones you don’t use and organize any you want to keep.
The entertainment area is another spot that can be cluttered with old DVDs and CDs that we never plan on using again. With so much choice on platforms like Netflix and Spotify these are now largely redundant so it might be a good idea to get rid of them or donate them.
The garage can be another area where we keep random items that we never plan on using again. For example, old paint cans will often spend years in here for no good reason so do a quick run through and throw all this type of stuff away.
Don’t forget your car during this decluttering as it can often be filled with both items to throw away or items that belong in the house. Bring two bags to the car – one for stuff to be thrown away and one for items to be brought back into the house.
In 21 days, you won’t solve all of your problems but at least you will have started to reclaim the space in your home. Try to keep control of the clutter in your home on an ongoing basis and get rid of items you know you won’t use. Check out the full infographic now!
